As a Trade Compliance Program Manager focused on Export Controls & Trade Compliance, you will serve as a champion of Caterpillar’s Values in Action while driving continuous improvement and ongoing leadership of Caterpillar’s Enterprise Trade Compliance within Resource Industries. This role partners with various teams throughout Resource Industries and across Caterpillar to create an awareness of and proactively ensure compliance in the dynamic world of global export controls and trade.

What You Will Do:

  • Developing and executing risk assessments of import and export compliance programs to ensure that all sites follow established policies and procedures.
  • Managing the development, implementation and maintenance of import and export compliance policies and procedures.
  • Overseeing all import and export activities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations; consulting with legal experts to resolve any legal compliance issues or concerns.
  • Conducting training on government laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to organizational products, services and technologies.

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Minimum 5 year of progressively responsible job-related compliance experience
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • International Trade Experience: Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations.
  • Experience Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Additional Information:

  • The primary location for this position is Peoria, Illinois, or Decatur, Illinois
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.
  • Sponsorship is not available
  • International and Domestic travel up to 15%

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
