Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.
As a Logistics Technician, you will be the primary contact for several Production Facilities and/or Purchased Finished suppliers. You will be actively engaged with the Product Group, Account Managers, and internal customers to support superior service. These areas focus primarily on assurance of supply to ensure customer and dealer demand is met.
Additional Information:
- This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation or sponsorship
- This role is 1st Shift: Monday through Friday
- This role is 100% on-site with no opportunities for hybrid or remote schedules
- This role requires up to 10% domestic travel
What You Will Do:
- Assist in the execution of process flows to track lead time by activity.
- Assist with pursuit of opportunities for improvements including cost, quality, and service of customer needs and issues.
- Utilize monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
- Generate reports of transportation costs and carrier performance. Tracking lead times including compliance with related regulations.
What You Have (Basic Requirements):
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have/Preferred Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics Management or equivalent experience.
- Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all process partners and customers at all levels
- APICS CPIM, CSPC National Certification, or 6 Sigma Project experience
- Strong mathematical, critical thinking, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with parts product structure, global purchasing and distribution practices
- Knowledge of Caterpillar product structure and organization of Caterpillar parts information and technical information databases
- Ability to accept increasing responsibility

Summary Pay Range:
$71,040.00 - $106,440.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
