Job Summary:
The Salesforce OnPoint Marketing Automation Product Owner plays a critical role in shaping Caterpillar’s customer experience by defining and managing marketing platform capabilities that deliver personalized, omni-channel engagement. This role ensures the development and optimization of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud solutions to support Caterpillar’s strategic goals and dealer-driven initiatives.
As part of the Caterpillar OnPoint team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, digital product managers, and enterprise stakeholders to enable data-rich marketing programs that enhance customer engagement and deliver measurable business impact
What You Will Do:
Working with stakeholders to determine short and mid-term product development strategy for the Platform and ensures alignment with overall member engagement vision and strategy.
Ensures buy-in for the product development strategy both internally and with key internal business partners.
Working with member engagement leaders, communication leaders, and other stakeholders to recommend solutions to address gaps with product enhancements.
Working closely with cross-functional teams to establish shared vision for category product development. Collaborate with internal and external partners to direct the product development process and ensure a consistent customer experience.
Being an expert at understanding how all of the parts of the Marketing and Communication Platform fit together and the key capability that they provide to the organization.
Responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Development Team
Responsible for acting as Product Owner for larger, more complex projects with high value to the organization
Responsible for creating, maintaining, and prioritizing the Product Backlog according to business value for the life of the project
Communicates Product Backlog priorities to the team
Act as the key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have
Assists with the elaboration of epics, themes and features into user stories that are small enough, or granular enough, to be achieved in a single sprint
Responsible for conveying the vision and goals at the beginning of every sprint
Represent the customer, interfacing and engaging with the customer
Participate in Daily Scrum as needed
Participate in Sprint Planning meetings, Demos and Retrospectives
Inspect the product progress at the end of every Sprint and accept or reject the work that has been done by the Development Team
Act as the voice of the team, communicating status externally
Be a good role model of Scrum values; understand the framework and the roles of each team member
Be a champion for the agile community and help to further the community within the organization

What You Will Have:

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Software Problem Management: Knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products.
Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
Four-year Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, marketing, communications, engineering, or related field OR equivalent working experience
Experience managing a Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment with deep understanding of various Salesforce Marketing Cloud components and the interconnectedness of those products.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Certifications (Email Specialist, Admin, and/or Consultant) – Preferred
Salesforce Sales Cloud Certifications (Admin, developer, etc) – Preferred
Experience as a product owner and/or business architect
Experience managing projects using Agile software tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Aha!, Mingle, VSTS, JIRA, Team Services, Rally
Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
Demonstrated ability to empower teams
Strong accountability, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, and communication skills
Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization
Experience in managing or developing in other Salesforce products
Familiarity with complex content creation and management platforms, and related business processes to support high volume, personalized interactions across marketing channels.
Strong understanding of identity management and data integration including mastering and integration technologies as well as digital fingerprinting and data integration for digital identities including cookies and devices.
Demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately to ensure a team’s success
Strong accountability planning/organization, and teamwork
Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $179,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
