When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. Systems include electronic controls consisting of standard Caterpillar ECMs with software modifications as well as custom designed modules for specialized applications. This involves engineering development of production Aftermarket Kits designed for dealer installation on customer machine and engine fleets. The team, based in Mossville, executes a range of projects with short NPI cycles of typically less than one year and often has direct interaction with dealers and customers. • A strong knowledge of analog and digital hardware design and/or product application is necessary to develop robust solutions and assess the application suitability as well as a thorough understanding of the mechanical and environmental requirements for the application.
  • In addition to new development, current production hardware will be maintained and supported through the platform lifecycle including obsolescence management.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and analysis skills are needed to resolve complex development and field issues and to improve overall performance and cost.

What You Will Have:

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Electronics Engineering: Knowledge of electronics engineering; ability to design, test and manufacture electronic circuits, components and devices.
  • Product Design: Knowledge of and the ability to utilize design tools (e.g. CAD) to convert customer and market requirements into a product design.
  • Mechanical Engineering: Knowledge of mechanical engineering processes, techniques and methods; ability to design and implement machines and other mechanical devices that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
