Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.

PSLD is hiring a Product Support Operations Consultant in Global Dealer Service Operations within Global Service. As the Product Support Operations Consultant (Drive Train), you will be the Drivetrain Subject Matter Expert collaborating within Global Dealer Service. You will support dealers in the drivetrain rebuild space to improve efficiency and quality of component rebuilds for the component rebuild support team. This position impacts the success of the Caterpillar Services Division. Your expertise will help improve the company’s ability to meet customer expectations, improve quality, reduce costs and increase profits.

What You Will Do:

• Develop & maintain component rebuild playbooks, utilizing Caterpillar documented instructions.
• Perform drivetrain assessments/reviews with the field support engineers at dealer component rebuild facilities when requested.
• Integrate Continuous Improvement and Best Practice ideas as part of your business activities.
• Review dealer rebuild assessments, identifying gaps and missing data. Follow up with COE, PSOR’s and dealers to identify the areas of opportunity.
• Implement and drive utilization of Cat Inspect and Cat Inspect Analysis by creating forms to support dealer rebuild capabilities and provide tools to support dealer/customer interface.
• Maintain dealer key performance indicator metrics by collecting, publishing and sharing on a monthly basis.
• Manage the Component Rebuild Catdealer.com website.
• Review and encourage the use of dealer practices
• Support drivetrain Reuse & Salvage projects by identifying dealer practices and working with engineering & support teams on specific projects, supporting the reuse of Caterpillar product.

Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.


• Relationship Management:
Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with dealers and peers.


• Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.


What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have/Preferred Skills):

• Four-year engineering or technical degree or equivalent job-related experience
• 3+ years of professional level experience.
• Previous dealer facing product support experience.
• Experience with rebuild or engineering of drivetrain components.

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
