Description
Supports the execution of designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring procurement capabilities to provide business solutions that are globally effective & applicable.
In this role, you will
Lead multiple initiatives to support Enterprise-wide Category procurement teams, focusing on Supply Resiliency processes and capabilities.
Collaborate with purchasing verticals and leadership to design the next generation of the Supply Resiliency Guide (SRG).
Integrate with our digital team to design permanent desktop tools to support new standard work.
Facilitate how Caterpillar verticals collaborate with a shared supply base by bring together vertical teams to create Enterprise-wide strategies and deliver key projects that will take us to the next level.
What You Will Do:
Lead strategic initiatives focused on lean process optimization, global market insights, and the development of tools and systems that drive operational excellence.
Design and deliver impactful solutions by collaborating with senior stakeholders and business users to gather Voice of the Business (VOB) and Voice of the Customer (VOC), define business requirements, and create implementation plans for successful deployment.
Shape enterprise standards by contributing to the creation of best practices, service offerings, and training resources that support consistent and scalable execution.
Serve as the technical lead for your discipline, partnering with procurement and enterprise teams to provide expert guidance and present recommendations to senior leadership.

Applies 7–10 years of supply chain and procurement experience to identify and implement process enhancements that reduce inefficiencies and variation.
Collaborates across functions to evaluate change factors and support requirements gathering for process improvements.
Leverages facilitation skills to guide teams through change and deliver high-impact initiatives.
Data Analytics
Uses advanced data analysis tools to interpret trends and performance metrics, supporting strategic decision-making.
Translates complex data into clear visualizations and insights for senior stakeholders.
Applies practical experience to assess business opportunities and recommend improvements.

Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to upper management.

Category Management
Applies foundational understanding of category management to improve procurement processes and profitability.
Identifies lifecycle stages and goals for effective end-to-end category execution.
Leverages cross-functional experience to support category strategy development.
Procurement Function
Implements procurement programs and ensures compliance with regulations and contract specifications.
Participates in strategic discussions and documents procurement workflows.
Applies deep domain knowledge from supply chain and engineering roles to support procurement objectives.

Deep collaboration experience across vertical purchasing organizations, consistently aligning stakeholders and delivering results.
Preferred experience with Six Sigma methodologies (Greenbelt/Black Belt), demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Additional Information
This position is based in Peoria, IL and requires on-site presence five days a week.
Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
