Role Definition
We are looking for an organized, self-starting Leader to join our team as a 3rd shift Manager Production at Building KK, in East Peoria, IL. This role is accountable for providing daily direction and organizational leadership for hourly associates in our Diversified Precision Gear, Planet Carrier, and Ring Gear value streams. As a Manager Production, you will be leading a group of machine operators to drive improvements in a very dynamic and exciting work environment. This role will be part of a three-shift operation, and will help own value stream budgets, resource allocation, staffing strategies and relentless execution of our PQVC initiatives.
What you will do
Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
Determines priorities and sequences jobs in alignment with production schedules
Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts to meet customer requirements
Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
Ensures production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination utilizing LEAN principles, including Leadership for Built in Quality and Right Part, Right Time
Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, and others
Evaluates, assess, identifies, and leads the deployment of workforce training
Actively deploys process improvements while practicing and teaching CPS Guiding Principles
Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members
Drives root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement
Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics
Leads the creation, implementation, and training of standard work procedures
Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent experience.
Skills you must have
Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
Production Training: Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.
Top Candidates will also have
Previous supervisory experience or 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
Previous manufacturing (component machining) operations experience
Experience with Lean manufacturing
Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data to make informed decisions
Willingness and ability to work outside of normal work hours including overtime, weekends and alternate shifts
Additional Information
This position will close 11/6/2025 at 11:59 pm.
The location for this position is East Peoria, IL (Building KK).
This position requires working 3rd shift (10:30PM to 6:30AM) and requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule onsite.
Overtime can be required depending on business needs.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
