Role Definition
We’re looking for an Organization and Talent Development Manager who will create and deploy a talent management strategy to support the global procurement function. This includes developing programs and trainings to support skills enablement; pipeline and succession planning; culture and organizational effectiveness; and leadership development. This role not only supports the global procurement function, but also directly supports the talent management needs of two Caterpillar divisions - Strategic Procurement and Planning Division and Resource Industries Supply Management.
What You Will Do:
- Analyzing metrics and data (via the Workday system) to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborating with leadership as an advisor helping identify and prioritize talent development initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborate on lead professional and leadership development, advising on organizational restructuring, organizing learning and development content, etc.
- Acting as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on Talent Development-related matters.
- Serving as a thought leader for talent management programs and technology; Providing advice and support to business and HR leaders, addressing talent management related questions and requests.
- Ensuring effectiveness of programs and providing feedback to Centers of Excellence re: process, program, practice, and system design.
- Partnering with the division change management team on talent management activities that are aligned with change management initiatives.
- Leading team of talent management professionals to collaborate effectively with Centers of Excellence and serve as thought partners to the business and HR.
What You Have:
- Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.
- Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
- Talent Transformation: Knowledge of the concept and strategies of talent transformation; ability to harness the potential and skills of employees to help them reach leadership positions while achieving the organization's strategic business objectives.
- Succession Planning: Knowledge of policies, techniques, methods and processes of succession planning; ability to identify and develop internal employees for the future fulfillment of an organization's core positions.
- Talent Management: Knowledge of how an organization attracts, recruits, retains, identifies and develops talent; ability to develop the talent required for an organization to achieve its short-term and long-term goals.
- Training and Development: Knowledge of employee training and development methodologies; ability to ensure that a target population has the knowledge and skills required to meet both tactical and strategic objectives
Additional Information:
- The primary locations for this position are Peoria, IL OR Irving, TX
- Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.

- This role requires the candidate to be onsite Monday to Friday.
- Travel will be approximately 25%

Summary Pay Range:
$156,000.00 - $234,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
