Role Description

Caterpillar’s Earthmoving division is hiring an Instrument Lab Scheduler! In this role you will coordinate instrumentation technicians and machines for the Peoria Proving Ground site and help manage machine priorities for the facility between engineering and operations. You will help increase the team’s skills by providing training and managing documentation. You will also assist with the Proving Ground’s ISO 17025 quality management, working with the instrumentation and engineering teams to ensure compliance. In addition, you will have the opportunity to lead instrumentation improvement projects for the facility with the team!

What you will do:

  • Schedule machines and technicians for the Instrument Application Center at PPG

  • Represent the instrument team in PPG’s daily priority meeting

  • Prepare and present ISO 17025 quality reports

  • Manage instrumentation process documentation

  • Provide training for technicians and engineers

  • Lead instrumentation improvement projects

  • Help load level within the team (instrumentation setup, asset management)

What you will have:

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of instrumentation or measurement technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Top candidates will have:

  • Instrumentation experience

  • Fundamental knowledge of computers and database usage

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Advanced interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Time management skills to simultaneously manage a variety of tasks

  • Office Model: This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
