We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as an IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure in Morton, IL.

Job Summary:
- As an IT Infrastructure Network Analyst (LAN/WLAN) you will join the Logistics Information Services (LIS) - Technology & Compliance Services Group within PSLD. This position is one within a team of Local Area Network / Wireless Local Area Network (LAN/WLAN) analysts responsible for designing, building, deploying, maintaining and supporting the LAN/WAN at multiple PSLD facilities. This analyst will also work with LAN/WLAN analysts on the enterprise network team to support some sites.

- This role is 1st shift
- This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote travel
- Off-shift and weekend implementations/support are required occasionally
- This role requires up to 15% domestic travel
What You Will Do:
- Maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.
- Design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures.
- Manage updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.
- LAN and WLAN administration
- Knowledge of wireless technology and provide operational support in an operational/warehouse environment
- Responsible for day-to-day network operations in supported PSLD sites, including site start-ups
- Monitors networks and provide network up-time for facilities
- Interacts frequently with Engineering and IT contacts at facilities, enterprise network teams & application teams for troubleshooting and investigation
- Network management - Cisco Prime LMS, DNA, WCS, Radius, Tacacs administration
- Asset manager for LAN/WLAN (Hardware tracking) including surplus hardware management
Working knowledge of: LAN cabling standards, IP Phones, PRI, Analog Lines and POTS Lines, PA Systems, Cisco Prime and other network monitoring tools - Planning, design, and implementation of LAN and wireless networks including DHCP and DNS
- Planning and upgrading existing networks to stay current with technology or respond to Caterpillar enterprise network and security guidelines, initiatives, and mandates
- Power requirements and standards for network equipment in TCOMM rooms
- Working with cable management

- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Technology Advising: Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain.
- Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
- Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- Strong LAN, WLAN, or WAN skills
- Strong teamwork, communication & customer service skills
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in computer networking
- Cisco hardware expertise
- Cisco certifications [CCNA, CCNP, CCDA]
- Experience performing LAN/WLAN implementations in new site startups.
- Experience supporting LAN/WAN implementations in remote locations.
- Solid troubleshooting and tracing skills, Cisco hardware configuration (router, switch, wireless LAN controller), software maintenance/upgrades, continuous network improvement
- Strong customer support skills and ITSM
- Proficient with WAN, DNS/DHCP, data cabling, & network hardware

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $155,400.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
