Caterpillar’s Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI) division is hiring a Global Product Consultant where you’ll be at the forefront of innovation for Motor Graders globally.

Role Summary: In this role, you’ll work closely with customers, regional GCI Sales and Application Teams, and division New Product Introduction (NPI) Managers and Product Managers, gathering insights, shaping functional specifications, and defining critical requirements for our Motor Grader products.

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

  • Lead GCI’s Global Customer Product and Functional Requirements’ development in support of motor grader NPI programs. Responsible for developing global critical customer product application requirements and product functional specifications for input to the worldwide (WW) Product Group’s NPI programs and gaining approval from the WW PM and VPs at the NPI Gate Reviews.

  • Own GCI’s marketing requirements and voice of customer (VOC) input to NPI development. This includes the collection, prioritization and communication of Voice of the Customer, Voice of Dealer, Voice of Machine and Voice of Expert.

  • Defines value of new product features, functional and technical specifications, and general product requirements including PINs and pricing recommendations to Global GCI Consultants. Support Value Analysis work for NPI teams especially related to competitive performance, features, maintenance, and repair costs.

  • Identify, manage, and provide reports on competitive performance studies, feature/benefit comparisons and maintenance and repair cost analysis.

  • Apply knowledge of products, technology, industry, customers etc., into strategic planning and Product Group Multi-Generational Product Planning (MGPP).

What You Have (Core Skills)

  • Customer Focus: Exceptional customer-back focus to develop true customer insights and demonstrate a sense of urgency in their customer requirements work.

  • Products and Services: Ability to bridge customer needs and product vision, identifying portfolio gaps and analyzing trends and demand, performing complex analyses for strategic planning, and communicating customer insights for strategic decision on pricing, features, and customer economics.

  • Effective Communications: Exceptional communication skills to convey insights to global teams and executives, preparing and presenting detailed reports for NPI approvals, developing global training programs, and mentoring less experienced personnel.

  • Technical Excellence: Expertise in Motor Graders or similar heavy equipment, developing global customer requirements and specifications for NPIs, with a track record in competitive performance studies, value analysis, and cost analysis, translating features into actionable recommendations. Clearly demonstrates the ability to understand and articulate technical machine performance and application knowledge.

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
