The Communications Specialist supports the Cat Digital division in cultivating a positive employee experience and managing day-to-day communications processes, including content, channels, processes, visual communications, and metrics. The incumbent partners with stakeholders across the business to ensure timely delivery of communications materials. The coordinator also supports ongoing process excellence efforts across the Digital, Technology & Distribution segment, supports communications on recurring annual programs, and provides business partnership support to Cat Digital leaders.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and advise on the suitability of approaches for communication efforts
- Track and analyze metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications
- Assist in the planning and creation of content for employee communication channels; ensuring that messaging and branding are consistent across all channels
- Develop and distribute communications materials, such as written communications, presentation materials, etc. to deliver key messages
- Drive process excellence in communications across the DT&D segment
- Develop high quality visual communications, especially PowerPoint presentations
What You Have:
- Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement
- Establishing and Maintaining Trust: Knowledge of developing and maintaining trust; ability to develop trusting relationships and provide solicited, respected and valued perspectives to clients/peers that guide thinking, facilitate issue resolution and enhance client/peer capabilities
- Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
- Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way
- Copywriting and Editing: Knowledge of copywriting and editing; ability to write, review and edit texts and documents to promote marketing
- Internal Communications: Knowledge of techniques and media for internal communications; ability to produce and distribute news, newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees
- Multimedia Technologies: Knowledge of multimedia publishing technologies and procedures; ability to use installed audio, visual and animation software tools to produce multimedia publications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing and/or equivalent experience

- The primary locations for this position are Peoria, IL, Chicago, IL, or Irving, TX. This position requires working onsite five days a week.
- Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
