Caterpillar is currently hiring an Engineering Project Team Leader for the electrical installation team supporting Hydraulic Mining Shovel (HMS). In this role, you will lead and oversee multiple electrical installation engineering projects focused on hydraulic mining shovels and related mining equipment. Your responsibilities will span coordinating cross-functional activities involving sales, marketing, product development, value chain optimization, manufacturing processes, and post-installation product support. You will be accountable for managing project timelines, budgets, technical troubleshooting (particularly electrical and electronic systems), and ensuring the successful integration of electrical solutions that address unique challenges within the mining industry.
What you will do:
Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
Coordinating resources and drive collaboration with sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain, manufacturing and product support.
Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving electrical installation problems.
Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
Degree Requirement: Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems:
• Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
• Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and electrical installation problems.
• Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
• Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.
• Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
Product Design and Development:
• Develops organizational standards and processes in order to maximize complex product services' efficiency and effectiveness.
• Creates and introduces new techniques that expedite or simplify the development process.
• Supervises the management of multiple and diverse types of products or services.
• Develops proof-of-concept exercises to prove or disprove validity of proposed products.
• Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems.
• Designs working prototypes of a variety of proposed products or services.
Top Candidates Will have:
Hydraulic Mining shovels or mining industry application knowledge.
Electrical and electronic troubleshooting experience.
Electrical SDP experience and ability to influence through expertise.
Extensive experience in Electrical installation product design and development.
Additional Information:
The primary locations for this position are Tucson, AZ or East Peoria, IL.
This position may require up to 15% travel (occasional international travel).

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
