As the Quality Lead for Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL), you’ll be at the forefront of shaping and executing our global quality strategy. Collaborate with diverse teams across continents to elevate product excellence and ensure we meet ambitious quality targets. What You Will Do:
- Shape the future of quality by defining and evolving the MWL Quality Strategy and leading its global execution.
- Collaborate across teams worldwide, including engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing, to drive quality initiatives and meet MWL targets.
- Champion defect reduction by leading transformation efforts in Internal Process Validation (IPV) and supporting Defect-Free Culture initiatives.
- Represent MWL proudly in key Earthmoving Quality forums and workshops, sharing insights and driving alignment across the organization.
- Own, optimize, and execute critical quality processes, including the MWL Quality Strategy Playbook, Defect-Free Operating System (DFOS), and STOP SHIP/STOP BUILD protocols.
- Drive supplier and facility excellence through proactive Go-See-Act engagements and enhanced Built-In Quality (BIQ) execution.
- Keep leadership informed by providing regular updates to MWL Senior Leadership on quality performance and strategic progress.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
- Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Influencing Through Expertise: Proven ability to communicate effectively across global teams, using deep technical knowledge to build trust and drive alignment.
- Project Management: Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives, with strong collaboration skills to coordinate efforts and deliver results.
- Technical Excellence with Quality Focus: Solid engineering background with hands-on experience in driving product quality improvements and applying technical insights to enhance performance and reliability.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Significant experience in product development, with a strong understanding of how quality systems and processes integrate throughout the lifecycle.
- Experience with Corporate Quality Systems such as RWA (Reliability and Warranty Analysis), QRWB (Quality & Reliability Workbench), and CPI (Continuous Product Improvement).
- Working knowledge of Corporate Quality Processes, including APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), NPI (New Product Introduction), and CPI.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to connect quality systems and processes to real-world product improvements.
- A collaborative spirit, eager to work across global teams and influence outcomes through expertise and relationship-building.

- Office Model: This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
- Travel: 15% domestic and international travel is expected.
- Relocation: Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
