Role Definition

The Large Power Systems Division, LPSD, has an opening for a Facilities Engineer position within the Drivetrain Operations Facilities Engineering team located in East Peoria, Illinois. This is a staff position that specializes in mechanical and electrical functionality plus troubleshooting of industrial heat treat equipment.

What you will do

  • Performing or assisting in routine maintenance or construction work.

  • Serve as first line of support for building service problems and work requests.

  • Collaborate with customer groups, Facilities / Maintenance, Manufacturing Operations, and Engineering

  • Work with Internal / External Suppliers to plan & implement facility wide projects to assure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes to produce quality products.

  • Coordinate compatibility of existing and new assets and/or systems

  • Ensure implementation of modern technology and verify the effectiveness related to facility processes modifications.

  • Monitoring and maintaining parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services.

Degree Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Skills you must have

  • Plant Facilities Management: Knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.

  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Construction Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to the construction industry; ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures and equipment for a specific branch of engineering to the design and production of various goods and services.

  • Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

  • Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

Top candidates will also have

  • 10 - 15 years of experience with Heat Treat equipment

    • OEMs – Holcroft, Williams, Gleason, Pfannenberg, etc.

  • Controls Systems and PLC experience

    • OEMs – Rockwell, Eurotherm, etc.

  • Industrial robotic & automation experience

    • OEMs – Fanuc, etc.

  • Deep understanding and experience in infrastructure systems such as building construction, mechanical, electrical, air, HVAC & conveyor systems.

  • This position will close on 08/13/2025 at 11:59 a.m.

  • This position will be located in East Peoria, IL (Building KK) and requires you to work a 5-day-a-week schedule on-site.

  • Relocation is NOT available.

  • Travel requirements will be less than 10%.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
