Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Engineering Project Team Leader at its facility located at Technical Center - Building F, 14009 Old Galena Road, Chillicothe, Illinois 61523. Manage complex engineering simulation software (Dynasty) development projects by leading teams in planning, development, design, implementation, testing and deployment. Monitor and enhance the performance, usability, functionality and stability of Dynasty by working with user groups, developers and stakeholders. Develop overall project scope and deliverables to address business challenges and opportunities. Develop long term strategies and technology roadmaps to increase Dynasty usage. Deploy rearchitected Dynasty to existing and potential enterprise users. Oversee and manage project progress and track costs and maintain budget targets. Develop and maintain metrics and dashboards. Monitor projects for critical path and actual status versus planned. Collect Dynasty customer feedback/requirements by developing and facilitating customer surveys, focus groups and observation sessions. Produce detailed functional and technical requirements for team members; Serving as team spokesperson at Caterpillar simulation conferences and meetings with management. Plan tasks and delegate to team members with expected target dates. Coach, mentor and provide guidance to enhance team members technical competence and help them achieve targets. Provide subject matter expert guidance related to engineering, software development and User Experience. Develop, maintain and champion engineering and software best practices and guidelines for developers to achieve releases on time with built in quality. Resolve technical or process issues. Develop critical engineering components in the Engines, Driveline and Controls libraries and other tasks in Dynasty. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus 10 years working in Simulation Software Development, 5 years of which must have been as an Engineering Project Team Leader, Engineering Specialist, or closely related role. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 5 years of experience with modeling and simulation of Mechanical and Electrical systems; (2) 10 years of experience with C, C++ and Python Programming; (3) 5 years of experience with Software Product Design/Architecture; (4) 2 years of experience with User Experience (UX) design; (5) 3 years of experience with GUI development using Qt; (6) Software development processes and tools such as: Git, SVN, Visual Studio); (7) Requirements Analysis (voice of the customer analysis and benchmarking); and (8) Troubleshooting Technical Problems (root cause analysis and debugging). Telecommuting: 2 days/week.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
