Job Description:
As a Facility Welding & Robotics Manager you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and ownership of all welding-related activities and serves as an enterprise resource for welding-related activities. Participates in the design, development, implementation and troubleshooting of robotic fabrication systems.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Completing and maintaining all aspects of the weld quality plan including welding personnel, weld process, weld equipment, and welding materials qualifications to Caterpillar Inc. standards.
• Leading cross-functional teams and performing as the recognized expert resource in engineering and manufacturing. Serving as technical leader for all new product introduction teams and technology initiatives.
• Serving as liaison between engineering and manufacturing on welding related issues and main point of contact for all new product introduction teams and technology initiatives.
• Partnering with fabrication suppliers on welding related issues to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective systems or operations to produce quality products.
• Debugging and troubleshooting robotic fabrication systems; automating all the aspects of robotics processes to ensure effective operation.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Experience working in manufacturing preferred
- Experience with fabrication/welding and robotics preferred
What Skills you will have:
Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Metal Fabrication: Knowledge of metal fabrication and installation standards and specifications; ability to assemble and fabricate metal structures.
Robotics/Computer Controlled Machinery: Knowledge of robotics technologies and computer controlled machinery; ability to implement and operate robotics and computer controlled machinery in an automated manufacturing environment.
Production Systems Operation: Knowledge of a full spectrum of production system operation activities and tools; ability to utilize various techniques to operate equipment and systems involved in the production of deliverables.
Welding - MFG: Knowledge of welding methods, processes and techniques within a manufacturing facility; ability to use tools and equipment to weld relevant components and fill seams and holes as required.
Additional Information:
- The primary location for this position is East Peoria, IL (LL)
- Domestic relocation assistance is available
- Travel will be up to 5%

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
