Procurement IT Manager
The Procurement IT Manager works as a leader within Caterpillar IT's Resource Industries, Order Fulfillment and Procurement Division. This IT Manager is the IT owner of a portfolio of 40 enterprise procurement applications, including the Enterprise Procurement Data Platform and supplier facing portal. The IT Manager's primary responsibility will be to lead a team of technology professionals while serving as a strategic liaison between IT and various business units. This role is responsible for managing people, cultivating strong business relationships and translating business needs into scalable, efficient IT solutions that align with organizational goals and delivering value for the Enterprise.
What You Will Do:
People Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of accountability, business acumen, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Allocate appropriately skilled staff and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of IT solutions.
Promote cross-training and succession planning to ensure team resilience and growth.
Business Relationship Management (BRM)
Act as the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment of IT initiatives with business objectives.
Participate in strategic planning sessions with business leaders to understand future direction and priorities.
Maintain visibility at senior management levels and communicate IT capabilities in business terms.
Translating Business Needs into IT Solutions
Collaborate with business units to gather and validate functional requirements and define solution designs.
Oversee the development and deployment of IT solutions that support business processes, ensuring integration, scalability, and security.
Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business value.
Procurement Application Ownership
Serve as the accountable IT owner for 35 enterprise procurement applications, including the Enterprise Procurement Data Platform and key supplier-facing systems.
Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and compliance to IT standards, policies, and procedures.
Monitor service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure IT services meet or exceed expectations.
Partner with procurement and supplier management teams to identify opportunities for innovation and automation.
Lead initiatives to modernize and optimize the procurement application landscape in alignment with enterprise architecture.
Lead or support audits, assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Have:
Four-year bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field
Direct development and/or deployment experience with SaaS and custom applications
Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
3+ years’ experience leading enterprise development/ deployment teams

Vendor/Supplier Management:
Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers).
IT Service Management (ITSM):
Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) service; ability to manage IT services and oversee service operations.
Top Candidates will also have:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Domain knowledge in procurement business processes
Strong accountability, planning/organization, teamwork and customer focus
Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to empower teams
BRM certification or equivalent experience in business relationship management

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
