Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Operations & Product Division (RIOP) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Accountant supporting the Large Wheel Loader, Wheel Dozer, and Compactor (LWL) Product Group. In this role, you will lead the monthly financial planning and analysis for LWL, support its OPACC improvement agenda, and drive all OPACC reporting. In addition, you will lead investment analysis to support key business decisions including New Product Introductions (NPI) programs and New Sourcing Introductions (NSI) programs. You will work closely with leaders within the LWL as well as peers within the RIOP Financial Consolidations Team.
What You Will Do:
- Lead LWL monthly financial planning and analysis
- Support LWL OPACC Improvement Agenda (OIA)
- Provide investment analysis (DCF) support for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and New Source Introduction (NSI) programs
- Complete Ad-Hoc financial analysis related to cost requests and sourcing decisions
- Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes
- Partner with the business to provide deeper strategic insights and solve challenges with a customer-oriented mindset
- Influence our finance culture by demonstrating desired behaviors, including but not limited to continuous improvement
What You Have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

- This position can be located in Mossville, IL or Decatur, IL
- This role is full-time, requires 5 days a week in the office

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
