Job Description:

Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Caterpillar’s Earthmoving Division is seeking a forward-thinking leader to head the Powertrain New Technology Integration Team, including the Powertrain ICT (International CPPD Team). In this role, you’ll drive the integration of advanced power sources—diesel, diesel-electric, battery-electric, and emerging alternatives—into Earthmoving machines. You’ll lead the development of common solutions across product lines, oversee Scope 3 emissions reporting and compliance, and collaborate closely with internal partners and external suppliers. Join us and help shape the future of Earthmoving through innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Champion Powertrain Integration: Lead the development and integration of common powertrain solutions—including engines and batteries—across Earthmoving products.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of five direct reports focused on Earthmoving powertrain strategy and New Technology Introduction (NTI) project execution.

  • Sustainability Reporting: Oversee consolidation and reporting of Earthmoving’s Scope 3 emissions data for the annual enterprise sustainability report.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Earthmoving product groups, other Caterpillar organizations, and external suppliers to align on component strategies, system requirements, and NTI development.

  • Strategic Input Gathering: Coordinate with product groups to gather and align inputs for strategic engine, electrification, and drivetrain projects—including requirements, model alignment, production volumes, and business needs.

  • Portfolio Management: Manage the Earthmoving Powertrain NTI project portfolio, including Obeya reviews and Technology Readiness Level assessments for diesel, alternative fuels, diesel-electric, and battery-electric systems.

  • Supplier Development: Collaborate with the Earthmoving Supply Chain team to identify and develop suppliers, reduce costs, and explore new business opportunities.

What You’ll Have:

  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering

  • Managing People: Demonstrated strong leadership in translating strategic vision into executable plans, guiding a diverse engineering team toward high-performance outcomes, while fostering talent development and leveraging enterprise-wide networks to drive cross-functional impact.

  • Technical Excellence: Deep expertise in engine component design, simulation, and test and development, with proven experience in machine powertrain integration and a track record of applying innovative technologies to solve complex engineering challenges.

  • Effective Communication: Strong ability in communicating complex technical concepts clearly across all organizational levels, fostering alignment and collaboration, while creating a culture of teamwork with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive results and minimize barriers.
