About the role:
The Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in either Mossville, IL or Corinth, MS. This position supports and designs new products or changes to existing products. As a Senior Design Engineer in the Reman Engines and components group you will be responsible for design and development of Reman products and the support of multiple facilities located in Corinth MS. This position will be responsible for helping develop Remanufacturing products and processes with the goal of reducing our New Part Consumption (NPU) across multiple engine platforms. You will work with multiple teams in the areas of engineering, manufacturing and operations.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

  • This position represents the journey level position within design engineering. The key role of a Sr. Engineer– Design is that of contributor to the planning and delivery of a project to support our future engine product to be manufacture in Corinth. This position will be accountable for contributing to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes.
  • This position performs complex analysis work, identifies design problems, and resolves problems. Although this position may be the transition from individual contributor to team leadership, the major focus of the job is on technical delivery. Incumbents may work more directly with different units, suppliers, customers, and/or other teams. This requires the ability to communicate technical information in a concise and accurate manner.

Education Requirement:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or Materials Science curriculum.

  • Analytical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Extensive experience with effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Extensive knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgements as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Technical Excellence: Extensive knowledge with given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Extensive knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
  • Product Design – MFG: Extensive knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
  • Product Design and Development: Extensive knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
