The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary:
As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer, you will be the primary contact and support person for multiple PSLD Projects associated with dealer demand planning and forecasting. You will be actively engaged with Caterpillar Dealers to gain a granular level forecast, collaborate on supply and achieve superior customer service. These areas focus primarily on Demand Management, Service, Cost analysis and strategic inventory stocking decisions. Additionally, you will be part of multiple teams that focus on managing stocking for Critical Component parts.
What You Will Do:
Primary focus on inventory management (IM) oriented duties, driving improvements to service and inventory by optimizing Distribution Requirements.
Planning (DRP), fixed requirement processes and other IM processes.
Perform work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on Service, On-Time-In-Lines (OTIL), Customer Centric Parts Availability (CCPA) and Inventory Turns.
Support internal process partners in areas of root causes to schedule variability, backorders and service loss.
Collect, analyze and present data in monthly Dealer S&OP Reviews.
Create, execute and maintain on-going weekly and monthly reports.
Participate in all projects and meetings to support improvements in Backorders, Past Due Schedules and Service Loss.
Must be comfortable presenting material in front of audiences in person as well as through Teams.
Excellent presentation skills and confidence to present in front of / to audiences.
What you have - Skills:
Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
English pre-advanced
Spanish pre-advanced
Senior experience in Service Parts Logistics (with inventory management knowledge)
Previous experience with SAP systems including SPP Service Parts Planning modules
Microsoft Application advanced knowledge
Top Candidates will have:
Senior years of previous experience utilizing PC SAS programming
Advanced educational degree (MBA and postgraduate)
Advanced knowledge in Power BI
Advanced/Fluent English
Advanced/Fluent Spanish
Additional Info:
25% or less travel
Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
