Job Summary:
The Caterpillar OEM Solutions Business is a 60-year-old, growing segment in Resource Industries with over 200% growth in the last 5 years and a mission to collaborate with Dealers and OEMS's to provide proven Caterpillar components, systems, and machines in specialty applications. Our customers value OEM Solutions products because we provide validated solutions and access to the Caterpillar dealer network, giving our OEM products an advantage in the market.
We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader candidate to support our application engineers in a team lead / configuration engineer role for our components and power module design projects. In this key strategic role, you will partner with our power module, components, and undercarriage application leads to deliver our projects working directly with our OEMs and dealers. This is a very exciting role that will have leadership opportunities delivering customer requested custom engineering. Additionally, this role will support component obsolescence, model requests & IP requests, maintenance, and product support.
What You Will Do:
- Engineering Project Leadership for Custom Engineered Power Modules, Undercarriage, and Components Projects.
- Managing Engineering Project portfolios providing leadership regular visibility and escalation for projects constraints.
- Leading NPI design reviews collaborating the application lead engineers as part of the OEM Solutions NPI programs.
- Providing engineering status and deliverables and risk mitigation plans in commercial NPI gateway reviews.
- Providing engineering configuration, releasing, and maintenance for OEM application lead engineers.
- Providing Technical Information and Technical support to OEM customers.
- Creating and Maintaining OEM Application Guides, Technical Data Sheets & Service Information for OEM offerings.
- Completing engineering designs in Creo and Caterpillar Team center as well as Maintenance Support for the product lines.
Education requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Ag Engineering
What skills you will have:
Products and Services:
- Proficient in Caterpillar Powertrain & Component product lines, Systems Integration, or Undercarriage product lines.
- Research the target market and how the products and services are sold and delivered.
- Summarizes key features of major products & explains the value of products and services.
- Collaborates with commercial and application lead to define product alternatives, to meet cost and pricing targets.
Technical Excellence:
- Proficient in Caterpillar Design including Creo and Team Center, Product Development, and New Product Introduction (NPI) Processes.
- Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
- Leads design reviews facilitating collaboration, providing superior technical solutions to business problems.
- Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs.
Team Management:
- Provides leadership for timely project kickoffs and alignment to Commercial DTO & NPI timing and goals
- Manages a team to the successful completion of a project or task.
- Recognizes the contribution of each and every team member publicly.
- Leads team meetings to review progress and performance, ensuring follow-up on previous decisions.
Product Design and Development:
- Capability to leverage existing Caterpillar into new OEM applications and manage integration design changes required to meet customer requirements.
- Creates standard processes and tools to expedite or simplify the design and development process.
- Collaborates with downstream process partners, primarily purchasing and order to delivery and hold them accountable to meet the customer commitments.

The location for this position is Mossville, IL

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
