We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Senior Associate Engineer - Tooling in Mossville, IL.
The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).
Job Summary:
As a Senior Associate Engineer – Tooling, you will have the opportunity to work with a high performing team in the design, development, testing and validation of tooling for hose and coupling products used in all Caterpillar engines and machines.

What You Will Do:
- Support Dealers, Product Groups, and Aftermarket Teams with all Tooling issues
- Develop, Test, and Validate new Tooling Products
- Coordinate New Product Introductions and Product Support initiatives with all Tooling Suppliers
- Conduct Product troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Coordinate SW updates with Suppliers for their respective Tooling
- Manage and resolve Dealer Service Network tickets
- Update and maintain Tooling manuals and the Tooling section within the Hose & Coupling Catalog
- Create and maintain Hose & Coupling Crimp Charts
- Create and update all Maintenance Sheets and Videos
- Travel to Cat Dealers and/or Customers to capture product feedback
What You Have (Required Skills):
- Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
- Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
- Experience working with Hydraulic components/systems
- Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as Cat Dealers and suppliers.
- Experience working with Cat Dealers, suppliers, and/or Aftermarket teams
- High Mechanical aptitude
- Troubleshooting skills/experience
- Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Knowledge of design for manufacturability guidelines, methodologies, and use cases; ability to use this knowledge to optimize product designs and manufacturing operations.
- Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
