Job Summary:
If you want to be at the forefront of change, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Quality Strategy team in Resource Industries Operations & Products Division. This job involves taking strategic quality initiatives and putting them into action across global value chains. You’ll be involved in connecting the quality digital thread from customer back to source and visualizing the information to easily gain insights and drive action.
What You Will Do:
- Select, organize, and share quality data from multiple sources, databases, and data lakes to drive continuous improvement
- Innovate on key process indicators drive desired outcomes
- Identify and resolve gaps in data to provide quality digital thread
- Develop data models to forecast future results based on current quality activities
- Collaborate with facility and enterprise experts to deliver sustainable visualization tools
- Be the quality data expert
Education requirement:
Requires a degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analyst, Data Engineer curriculum.
What skills you will have:
Business Statistics:
- Explains basic decision process associated with trend forecasting statistics including confidence intervals
- Accounts for statistical misinterpretations and misrepresentations and clarifies quality related trends
- Generates and interprets basic statistical data for quality trend forecasting
Accuracy and Attention to Detail:
- Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy
- Productively balances speed and accuracy to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual quality trend updates
- Implements a variety of cross-checking approaches and mechanisms to ensure accuracy in reporting
Analytical Thinking:
- Actively listens to business situations or problems and identifies data sets for hypothesis testing
- Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions
- Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions
Programming Languages:
- Follows an organization's standards, policies and guidelines for data access, acquisition, and use
- Diagnoses and address minor data connection / refresh issues
- Knowledge in specific tools in Extract, Transform, Load such as SQL, R and Python
- Conducts data mining and cleaning initiatives
Query and Database Access Tools:
- Writes, debugs and implements complex queries involving multiple tables or databases
- Works with aggregate functions, complex joins, groupings, dynamic and embedded SQL's (Structured Query Languages)
- Consults on query optimization, interactive queries, testing and verification
Top Candidates will also have:
Proficient skills with or in Snowflake, SQL, PowerBI or equivalent

The location for this position is East Peoria, Illinois, Mossville, Illinois, or Decatur, Illinois

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $179,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
