Role Definition:

The IT Sales Product Manager works as a leader within Caterpillar IT, Resource Industries - IT, Order Fulfillment and Procurement Division. Products within this portfolio include Order Management and Sales & Operations Planning corporate applications. This role works directly with business units, Group CIO organizations and across Caterpillar IT to support the modernization and digitization of the order management and S&OP systems and processes. The Product Owner is accountable for: providing leadership and guidance to the system teams across the organization in direct collaboration with system engineering, enterprise architects and process/data owners. Additionally, the role works with business partners to ensure product adoption that yields high enterprise value.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct management for a team of 3 IT Managers and a Solution Lead; indirect management of a global team of 200-250 people

  • Delivery to Modern Order Management program roadmap (3 years into a 6-year program)

  • Responsible for the vision alignment to business partners and conveying that vision to team.

  • Tasked with setting and managing release dates for both major and minor versions across a large, multifaceted portfolio.

  • Customer Relations management

  • Manage budget to plan.

  • Employees are also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field

  • Direct development and/or deployment experience with Salesforce applications

  • Domain expert in business applications

  • Supply chain and sales expertise.

  • Expertise with data domains

  • Demonstrated ability to empower teams.

  • Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization

  • Experience working with onshore/offshore team models.

  • Experience leading enterprise development / deployment teams.

  • High impact presentation & storytelling – Ability to create and delivery complex messages tailored to audiences up through the executive office.

Additional Info:

  • The primary location for this role is E. Peoria, IL, 5 days onsite.

Summary Pay Range:

$156,000.00 - $234,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
