As a 6T22 Metrology Technologist – Gage Lab Technician you will be responsible for the day-to-day certifications of gages and building of gages for machinist in the TC-K Shop to use as well dimensional layout work.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Building and setting of various gages for the TC-K Shop and other clients as needed such as dial bore gages, snap gages, etc.

• Certify gages and ensure all gage certifications are up to date and tracked in GageIT

• Calibration of gages such as calipers, OD micrometers, ID micrometers, Indicators, etc.

• Ability to complete measurement over pins on gear and spline as well as other hand measurements using various gages.

• Supporting engineers, technologists, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers

• Completing surface finish measurements

• Attend meetings

• Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition

• Must meet deadlines

Required Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of progressive, relevant experience in Quality Inspection

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients, suppliers, and customers.

• Must have strong understanding of GD&T and its application

• Microsoft Office experience (basic skills/knowledge – capable of functioning independently) ie. Excel, word, PowerPoint.

• Must have strong understanding of GD&T and its application

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods

• Ability to lift 35lbs

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of 1E2122 Surface Finish Specs and 1E4157 Gear Waviness Specs as well as other Caterpillar 1E Specs for Surface Finish.

• Ability to run surface finish machines such as the Zeiss Surfcom 2000 and the Zeiss Surfcom 5000 as well as various portable surface analyzers and profilometers.

• Experience using online Caterpillar drawings (in EPIX or HVC) and 1E Specifications (in REDI) also highly desirable.

• Program / Operate CMM’s using PC-DMIS / Quindos

Summary Pay Range:

$35.81 - $38.49
