Caterpillar is hiring a Senior Sales Support Consultant within our Global Construction & Infrastructure (GCI) division to support our North America waste business.
Role Summary: Drive achievement of the business plan through support of the customer base covering the waste industries in North America. These include major accounts, governmental customers, and regional/local businesses that run landfills, transfer stations, and Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs).
What You’ll Do
Consult with regional districts and Cat dealers to develop and implement customer Waste solutions designed to maximize product value and price.
Design business plan shortfalls and capitalize on identified incremental sales opportunities.
Resolve issues related to the products and overall commercial performance in the territory; Oversee PINS trends, demand fluctuations, and basic customer requirements.
Develop new prospects, establish customers, and find opportunities to introduce the organization's products and services.
Complete site assessments to support Waste customers with landfills, transfer stations, MRFs (material recovery facilities) to maximize productivity/efficiency, identify costs saving, and enhance operational safety. Complete assessment and deliver a summary to the customers with recommendations.
Develop Cat Dealer and Cat Team capability in the Waste segment – provide resources and training to help Cat Dealers and Cat Team understand critical customer needs of waste accounts. Share Cat products and offerings that we have to satisfy those needs and add value.
Identify Unmet Customer Needs (UCNs) to product groups for product development. Lead discussions with product groups to identify and prioritize requirements on our portfolio necessary to have the best value products for waste customers. Serve as the owner for the Cat Dealer Waste Council and Cat Waste Customer Panel group.
Represent Caterpillar with North America waste organizations such as NWRA, SWANA, and EREF. Establish and maintain strong relationships with these organization to represent Caterpillar as the leader in equipment and services solutions for waste customers. Own annual events such as Waste Expo, RCon, etc. to establish Cat presence at these annual events.
Lead the 21st Century Waste Leadership strategy working with senior Caterpillar leadership across internal machine and product groups.
Lead customer solution integrations for technology, services growth, and rental/used/aftermarket growth.
What You Have
Effective communication skills and outstanding professional presence to speak to audiences from 10 to 1000 representing Caterpillar in the North America waste segment
Strong relationship management and customer focus skills
Strong organizational skills and experience in project management
Excellent grasp of Microsoft offices tools to work efficiently and communicate effectively
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Industry knowledge of the North America Waste industry
Strong understanding of equipment used in waste applications
Ability to operate equipment in waste applications a plus
Strategy development and execution skills

Work location: Peoria, IL
Travel up to 75% is required
Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
