Caterpillar is a seeking a Market Research Consultant for Governmental / Cooperative Contracts. Partnering with our dealer network, Caterpillar does significant business with governments in the US and Canada. If you enjoy data analysis and are looking for a great opportunity to gain or expand your market research and account management skills inside a growing industry, the Governmental Sales team in our Global Construction and Infrastructure Division (GCI) is a place for you as a Market Research Consultant!
What will you do?
In this role, you will manage all facets of the governmental contracts we utilize to run our business in the governmental market segment. Additionally, you will have opportunity to build your data analysis and project management skills alongside the opportunity to work cross functionally and collaboratively with internal business teams and dealers.
Design and execute market research projects
Respond to RFPs, RFQs, etc for governmental contracts (cooperative contracts)
Promote, grow and manage Cooperative contracts
Own and manage our cooperative contract sales processes, track sales and payouts
Create reports and analyze trends for Sales, Governmental PINS (Percentage of Industry Sales), and seasonality.
Attend tradeshows; showcase Caterpillar machines and services
Conduct dealer/customer training for events/tradeshows
Participate in and drive growth projects with a Governmental focus
What You Have (Core Skills)
Data gathering & analysis: Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data effectively and translate those findings to business leaders/partners; Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, slicers, VLOOKUP) and Microsoft PowerPoint
Collaboration: Using project management skills, working effectively and respectfully with others and delivering against deadlines
Excellent relationship management and creative problem-solving skills
Strong time management and organization skills
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Prior experience in market research, sales operations, project management, government contracts or related field
Professional experience in a client-facing or customer service role
Knowledge & experience working with dealerships and dealer networks in a sales, marketing or client facing capacity
Thorough understanding of Caterpillar’s product line
Additional Details
Work location: Peoria, IL
Caterpillar requires 5 days per week of in-office work (M-F)
Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
