Caterpillar Inc. seeks Senior Design Engineer at its facility located at 14009 N Old Galena Rd, Mossville, IL 61523. Create design concepts, engineering drawings, and detailed designs that meet schedule, cost, and quality goals for harness and cable design on large mobile equipment. Collaborate with other design engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing planners for design requirements. Conduct design reviews on electrical design work. Conduct fit-up and testing of wiring installation at test sites and facilities. Direct and ensure quality work of assisting design engineers and detailers when applicable. Support installation of designs at factory and field when required, including work instructions for assemblers and field installers. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of experience in engineering role with electrical harness design and installation or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Designing wiring on large mining trucks; (2) Creating 3-D drawings using PRO-E or Creo computerized design programs; (3) Electrical routing design for Manufacturability and Serviceability; (4) Routing, bonding and grounding of Medium Voltage cables, > 1000V; and (5) Conducting DFMEA analysis on electrical installation on mobile equipment. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.

Pay summary: $133,266.00 - $165,840.00
