About the role:
Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is seeking an NPI Team Leader for our Mossville, Illinois facility. This position is a high visibility leadership position within the Electronics group of Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division and reports to the NPI Program Manager. This role manages multiple or complex NPI projects involving multiple functions or sites.

Job responsibilities will Include but are not limited to:

  • Lead Reman NPI programs in support of new product introductions by working with a cross-functional team including Reman product engineering, machine/engine prime product and component NPI, business resources, manufacturing, and supplier teams throughout the world.
  • Build and evaluate business cases for Reman product offerings.
  • Scope, launch, and run NPI projects to implement new products and grow sales using the Reman NPI process.
  • Coordinating with the businesses, sales, marketing, and platform groups to manage resources for each deliverable within the project.
  • Influencing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.

Skill Descriptors:

  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Working Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Products and Services: Working Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Quality Management: Basic Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
  • Effective Communications: Extensive Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Working Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Customer Service Management: Working Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Program Management: Working Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives.
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Working Knowledge of design for manufacturability guidelines, methodologies, and use cases; ability to use this knowledge to optimize product designs and manufacturing operations.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Experience with NPI program management
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex projects and business acumen
  • Strong project management skills

Additional Information:

  • Relocation assistance IS available for this role.
  • The primary location for this role is Mossville, Illinois.
  • 10-25% will be required for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
