Job Summary:
As a Development Analyst, you are responsible for providing analytical sample processing and data review to support SOS SM Services initiatives. You will use a variety of analytical techniques and wet chemistry to process oil, fuel, and source water and/or coolant samples submitted by customers. Engineers and dealers use results to manage equipment preventive maintenance schedules.

This position is a 1st shift position with working hours of 7:00am – 3:30pm CST.
This position is located in Peoria, IL.
This position does not offer relocation.
This position requires up to 10% of working time travel.

Services Manager Training
Safety Training
Sample Registration, Prep and Handling (receipt to disposal)
Material Inspection and Supply Receipt
Daily Customer Interactions via telephone or e-mail
Collect and evaluate Data and LIMS transfer
Waste Disposal and EHS compliance
Oil Testing (Particle Count Analysis, Viscosity Analysis, Sample Dilution, FTIR Analysis, Gas Chromatography, ICP Analysis, Visual Inspection, Titrations)
Coolant Testing
Ownership of Designated Processes
Completion Billing form and Received Dates
Instrument Troubleshooting
Preparation of Reagents and standards
Identifying problem areas
What You Have:
Four-year degree OR equivalent operations experience

Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS): Knowledge of a specific laboratory information management system and its purpose and capabilities; ability to use the system to improve lab productivity and efficiency by monitoring experiments, laboratory workflows, and instruments.
• Understands the functions and applications of LIMS.
• Lists and compares different LIMS vendors available in the market.
• Explains the benefits and challenges of using LIMS.
• Cites the examples of LIMS use cases as applied in one's organization.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.
• Explains the rationale for finding and resolving the real cause of a problem rather than simply continuing to deal with the symptoms.
• Describes the basic steps in an approach to root cause analysis (RCA).
• Gives examples of problems that were resolved through root cause analysis.
• Defines the terms 'Fixes that Fail structure' and 'Addiction structure'.
What Will Set You Apart (Preferred skills):
Experience working in Microsoft Office and the ability to complete basic computer tasks
Experience with basic laboratory skills such as lab safety (PPE, handling hazardous materials, etc.)
Experience as an Operations Team Lead
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Summary Pay Range:
$71,040.00 - $106,440.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
