Talent Acquisition Specialist - Early Talent
Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) product teams deliver world class products across commercial and machine markets that bring the best value to our customers while achieving business commitments. We are currently looking for an Talent Acquisition Specialist with a focus on early talent as well as full lifecycle recruitment for a variety of other roles within the division. This position is located in Mossville, Illinois or Lafayette, Indiana.
As an Talent Acquisition Specialist at Caterpillar, you will coordinate staffing processes for LPSD early talent, engineering, and manufacturing roles. You’ll work with hiring managers to understand early talent staffing needs, review requisitions, source for passive talent, review resumes and provide top talent, manage full recruiting lifecycle while providing excellent customer service. This is a key role on the Human Resources team supporting the Talent Acquisition responsibility for an organization of more than 9,000 global employees within our Large Power Systems Division. What You Will do:
- Counseling hiring managers regarding recruiting strategies and practices that support the goals and direction of the organization for early talent; leveraging data to drive decision-making.
- Recruiting, interviewing, checking references, making offers, and communicating orientation and start date plans for new employees.
- Utilizing the applicant tracking system (ATS), Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools and industry leading sourcing technologies to deliver the most qualified candidates for current roles and building strong candidate pipelines for future roles.
- Developing plans for sourcing appropriate and diverse candidates, conducting the interview process, and extending offers to selected candidates while maintaining a low cost per hire for early talent roles.
- Collaborate across the organization and community, supporting Caterpillar early talent recruitment events and programming, as well as strategic university and community outreach initiatives
- Partner with business leaders and HR team members to develop and maintain effective relationships across U.S. Early Talent, Engineering, Manufacturing, and LPSD teams.
- Provide back-up recruiting services within the LPSD team and for other regions as needed.
What You Will Have:
- Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
- Customer/Market Focus: Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.
- Recruitment Channel Management: Knowledge of the benefit, selection, implementation, and operation of various recruitment channels (e.g., computer databases, Internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, recruiting firms and employee referrals); ability to use appropriate channels to achieve objectives of organizational talent strategy.
- Candidate Screening: Knowledge of techniques, methods and processes of candidate screening; ability to preselect suitable candidates for first and further interviews within the organization.
- Candidate Sourcing: Knowledge of techniques, methods and channels of candidate sourcing; ability to attract and qualify candidates for immediate job vacancies or as potential long-term job candidates.
- Staffing and Recruiting: Knowledge of standards, processes, techniques and methods used in staffing and recruiting; ability to identify, select, retain and relocate qualified personnel, both internally and externally, for a wide range of positions.
- Workforce Analytics: Knowledge of human resources (HR) and workforce issues and trends; ability to analyze workforce data, information and metrics and apply the results to support business decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Project management experience.
Top Candidates will also have:
- 3 plus years of talent acquisition experience.
- Familiarity with ATS and CRM systems like Workday or Beamery.
- A strong understanding of brand standards and marketing/communication best practices for content creation for internal and external facing mediums.

- This position does require 15-25% domestic travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
