The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Division CFO for Caterpillar IT will have responsibility for providing accounting and finance leadership for the Caterpillar IT division, directly supporting the Senior Vice President and Caterpillar Chief Information Officer (CIO).

About Global Finance Services:

Global Finance Services provides comprehensive finance services for the enterprise and supports the finance-related functions of the business units, including accounting and reporting, pricing, strategy, economics, compliance, and sales and operations planning. The division includes Corporate Accounting, Business Economics, Global Pricing, Financial Planning & Analysis, Mergers & Acquisitions, Global Business Services, and Corporate Treasury, as well as Indirect Procurement, Global Travel, Corporate Real Estate, and Global Facilities.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively leading a diverse team, focused on proper talent development, succession planning and performance management.

  • Provide financial leadership to the Caterpillar IT division and CIO including but not limited to:

    • Producing thorough, accurate and timely budget and expense management reporting for the organization.

    • Supporting the annual budgeting process including analysis and review of financial information and its impact on the business.

    • Analyzing and interpreting financial information for planning and control purposes.

    • Creating and leading a strong controls and compliance environment.

  • Driving partnership with senior leadership to gain appropriate alignment and understanding of key requirements and outcomes to drive profitable growth.

  • Collaborating across groups to ensure an enterprise focus is maintained.

  • Championing the finance transformation and continuous process improvement.

What You Will Bring (Skills & Experiences):

  • Leadership: Willing to seek and build strong relationships across the enterprise, knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there, developing high performing teams and employees through coaching and mentoring.

  • Business Acumen: Solid business acumen with a focus on enterprise results to drive profitable growth, knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Ability to Influence business decisions. Experience participating in creating organizational strategy; showing how the function contributes to results.

  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

  • Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Ensures adherence to organization's financial requirements and practices. Coaches others in the use of financial management practices and tools. Reviews key financial and performance.

  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. Leads others on the full spectrum of financial analyses. Consults on all major financial analysis approaches, quantitative and qualitative measures.

  • Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

  • Budgeting: Knowledge of organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience desired.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues and develop others

  • Strong business partner with the ability to build relationships and partner across functions to help drive the business.

Additional Information:

  • This role will be based onsite in Peoria, IL or onsite in Irving, TX with ~15% travel.

  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify.

  • Visa Sponsorship will not be offered.

  • This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar’s long-term incentive plan

Summary Pay Range:

$199,680.00 - $299,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
