Job Summary
Caterpillar’s Electrification + Energy Solutions Division is looking an experienced Battery Systems Technical Lead to develop battery solutions for a wide range of applications. This role applies product knowledge to develop innovative solutions, impacts key decisions and battery strategy, utilizes project management skills to maintain commitments, fosters collaboration across the organization, interfaces with external partners, gathers key requirements, and evaluates business impacts and technical tradeoffs. This exciting opportunity will serve a critical role in developing batteries for wide range of Caterpillar applications.
Responsibilities
· Leads key battery system decision matrix activities by forming teams across the organization, pulling in subject matter experts, analyzing options and tradeoffs and making a final recommendation to leadership
· Leveraging product and process knowledge to develop project R&D and material estimates, detailed resource loading and high-level project plans in order to make tradeoffs between several solutions
· Work with internal and external partners, including NPI program, battery product team, new technology, manufacturing, and application teams to clearly summarize and communicate the battery system teams comprehensive project deliverables, areas of risk and suggest opportunities for improvement
· Collaborates with design, analysis, manufacturing, validation and chief engineers to develop project design review templates, schedules design reviews, captures arears for improvements, big wins prior to program gateways or other key project stakeholder updates
What you have:
Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
Technical Excellence: Extensive experience with design or development of mechanical or electrical systems including moderate experience with battery systems, components or sub systems
Level Extensive Experience:
• Advises others on the assessment and provision of battery solutions.
• Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
• Mentors others to enhance their technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

• Plays an active or leading role in recording and storing requirement documents in various forms.
• Ensures the successful completion of all major activities, tasks and deliverables pertaining to the requirement analysis stage.
• Produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

• Advocates the development of new technologies and tools for product design and development.
• Leads cross-functional teams assembled for the purpose of product design and development.
• Develops organizational best practices for the management of product design and development.
• Establishes new product development strategies and processes for the organization.
• Predicts future trends of product design and development.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
