Role Definition
The Senior Manager of Total Rewards with responsibility for North America Compensation provides Total Rewards services to internal customers for Research and Market Analysis of Compensation programs, Competitive Compensation Studies, Job Evaluation, Employee Service Awards, Workday related Compensation practices. The role acts as the functional expert in Compensation and manages a team of Total Rewards Partners and Senior Partners. The role also seeks to drive efficiencies, define and develop standardization in our processes to drive consistent practices and ensure clear and customer focused communications and proactive stakeholder management. The role manages and leads projects and solves complex Total Reward challenges.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure the Compensation Competitiveness enhance our ability to recruit and retain employees
- Review existing programs, propose modification to existing programs or design of new programs to ensure the achievement of a competitive market position aligned with our business and talent objectives
- Lead qualitative and quantitative research on compensation related programs to support business and talent challenges for management, support and production employees
- Completes external market research and analyses to understand compensation trends, provide insights and recommendations to enhance current compensation programs or potential new programs
- Process owner for job evaluation, consult with and provide advice to managers regarding organizational structure and salary grade levels prior to their implementation and partner with Talent Management as required on Director and above level reviews
- Ensure compliance with the 'exempt', 'non-exempt' provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act
- Contribute to the Annual Compensation budgeting process and work with internal teams like accounting driving timely submissions
- Support/Lead special compensation related studies
What You Have:
- Compensation Management: Knowledge of compensation structure, and regulations and policies related to compensation; ability to design, implement and evaluate compensation programs, policies and processes within an organization. Knowledge of varied practices among consultants and ability to converge and compare in line with the internal needs
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Program Management: Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
