Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Configuration Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of integrated stationary charging systems required at a mine site level to support battery electric haul trucks. These charging systems will provide superior customer value in terms of features, performance, durability, and quality, with considerations of cost, manufacturing, velocity, and serviceability.
What You Will Do:
- Configure and integrate stationary charging systems for battery electric haul trucks at mine sites.
- Identify and drive the development of software and hardware components to meet specific site requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of charging systems.
- Drive system-level testing and validation planning to ensure performance, reliability, and safety standards are met.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, implementing improvements as needed.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in EV charging technology.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers.
Education requirement:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or a related field.

- Proactive communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate complex concepts clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

- Planning and envisioning long-term goals and the steps needed to achieve them.
- Understanding how different parts of a system interact and influence each other.
- Combining different pieces of information to form a coherent whole.
- Identifying problems and developing effective solutions.
Top Candidates will also have:
- Knowledge of the NPI and TRL processes
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, and software integration.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety requirements for EV charging systems.
- Proven knowledge in the development and integration of systems, preferably in the heavy equipment or EV charging industry.
- Knowledge with system-level testing and validation.
- Passion for sustainable technology and electric mobility.
- Proficiency in Creo
Additional Information:
The location for this position is Mossville, IL.
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require 10% - 15% travel.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
