Caterpillar has an open Accountant position supporting the Strategic Procurement and Planning Division (SPPD). The SPPD organization is driving a transformative agenda across Caterpillar through the establishment of an enterprise procurement vision, processes and tools in support of all segment procurement groups. It drives enterprise-wide standards and provides assurance of supply, supplier relationship management, and cost leadership. It is also driving the development of new digital tools and is tasked with advancing procurement talent, capabilities, and technology. SPPD also includes Caterpillar’s Global Demand & Orders Management group, providing end-to-end supply/demand planning for the company. In this role, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting for the SPPD department.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the financial forecasting process and analysis for the SPPD team. Create and present reports on financial performance for internal and external use to drive informed decisions of the business.
- Oversee development of automated tools to drive efficiency and accuracy in forecasting and reporting.
- Perform accounting tasks in accordance with GAAP and support a strong compliance culture.
- Collaborate frequently with SPPD leadership as a business partner and other financial stakeholders across the enterprise.
What Skills & Experiences You Will Need:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: constantly observing your environment, assessing the effects of changes, and determining how to adapt to them.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
