Associate Procurement Professional

Mapleton, IL

Role Summary:

The Large Power Systems Division has a current opening for an Associate Procurement Professional who will process requisitions and provide support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and purchase order generation.

What you will do (includes but not limited to):

• Perform analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Support internal partners with proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
• Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers related to material delivery.

Education and Experience Requirement:

• Degree or equivalent experience desired

What you have:

Analytical Thinking: Basic Understanding:

Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Effective Communications: Working Knowledge:

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Procurement: Basic Understanding:

Knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment and services needed to conduct business.

Knowledge of a Specific Procurement System: Basic Understanding:

Knowledge of the features, functions and operations of a specific procurement system; ability to develop and use tools, techniques, and practices for a specific procurement application.

Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Basic Understanding:

Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.

Top Candidates will also have:

• Experience with MFG Pro and/or Lognet

• This position is located in Mapleton, IL.

Summary Pay Range:

$71,040.00 - $106,440.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
