Job summary:

The Large Power Systems Division currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer on the Fuel Systems solenoid team. In this role you will join a team of engineers developing and supporting electromagnetic solenoids for Caterpillar fuel injectors and pumps. The position works at the intersection between electrical and mechanical engineering and offers a breadth of technical opportunities: supplier collaboration, technical problem-solving, detailed design, hands-on testing, quality issue resolution, NTI/NPI program leadership, design validation, and manufacturing implementation.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with suppliers to identify and resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues.
• Design new solenoid products
• Develop, validate, and implement design changes.
• Communicate project status with stakeholders and participating functional areas.

Degree Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Skills you must have:

Technical Excellence: Level Extensive Experience:

Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

Level Extensive Experience:

Product Design - MFG: Level Extensive Experience:

Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.

Product Design and Development: Level Extensive Experience:

Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Top candidates will also have:

• Professional experience with electrical and mechanical components.

• This position is located in Mossville, IL.
• Up to 15% travel is required for this position.
