In this position, you will provide technical and strategic support across multi-functional teams that executes multiple workstreams focusing on modularity and commonality for Load and Haul Products. You will play a key role in the technical team within the Resource Industries division for project Convergence with a keen eye on the Quality, Time, and Cost (Investments and Benefits). This role will be expected to work across multiple workstreams at the same time and collaborate with all 4 Load and Haul product teams. You will be responsible for identifying and finding improvement opportunities that exist across each of the different processes and executing strategies to address them.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Researching and developing design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of new products and components.
- Guiding the evolution of the technical design, technical project planning, performance analysis, and development testing. Participating in supplier selection and capabilities assessment.
- Monitoring, exploring, and testing new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities.
- Constructing and fabricating prototype equipment; overseeing materials selection, process optimization and process yield, as well as reliability testing and failure analysis.
- Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
Degree Requirement:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience desired
What Skills you will have:
Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Explains the rationale for using BPI methodology.
• Identifies the main steps in a BPI project such as defining the existing structure.
• Describes BPI key considerations such as establishing process owners.
• States the major roles involved in business process management.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Contributes to short-term operational plans.
• Anticipates and adapts to plan changes.

• Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections.
• Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility.
