Medium Tractor Products currently has an opening for a Senior Design Engineer located in Washington, IL, working on the Engine Installation and Cooling Team. This team has responsibility for multiple facets of product design for the tractor products portfolio which includes the D6-D8 Track Type Tractors and PL83-PL87 Pipelayers. In this position, you’ll design, develop, build, and implement new products and components supporting both New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring our products meet and exceed expectations in terms of scope, quality, speed, and cost across various machine platforms. What You Will Do:
- Establish engine installation and cooling system requirements with inputs from other machine systems including engine, cooling, and machine product development teams.
- Collaborate with supply specialists and buyers for supplier development and supplier performance to optimize performance and cost.
- Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
- Resolve any issues identified during program development or on customer machines with validated solutions.
What You Have:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering curriculum (Mechanical engineering degree strongly preferred).
- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of engine installation and cooling design, cooling systems design, or engine design; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Ability to design and develop a new product from concept through to production.
- Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate, and test product design drafts.
- Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to use techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of complex technical problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities; making effective judgements as to prioritizing and time allocation.
