The Opportunity

The Global Parts Pricing team is hiring a Pricing Systems Program Manager to plan and execute the modernization of our pricing system to support profitable services growth. As a Program Manager you will lead the planning and management of multiple connected cross-functional team projects that develop and implement an enterprise-wide architecture for global parts pricing applications and systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the development and maintenance of business proposals, investment communications, and spend status to obtain and retain enterprise support.
  • Execute the vision and direction of the systems modernization program.
  • Deliver stakeholder program updates to executive leadership and business partners.
  • Monitor interdependencies between projects and proactively mitigate program risks.
  • Manage stakeholders and expectations at various levels across the enterprise by working in close collaboration with multiple cross-functional business partners.
  • Indirectly manage a global, cross-functional team by promoting a culture that encourages continuous improvement, collaboration, excitement, commitment, and a sense of urgency toward business success.

What Skills You Have:

  • Agile Development and Project Management: Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices, and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications. Knowledge of effective agile project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external.
  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Value Realization: Knowledge of value realization methods; ability to plan, execute, monitor and manage business activities and resources to determine and achieve the actual value from a business initiative as estimated in an associated business case.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Advanced degree highly preferred
  • 8-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in leading large scale change initiatives ($5M-$20M Cap/Ex)
  • Experience leading a global team and working across a matrixed organization
  • Knowledge of aftermarket, pricing function and software & system development
  • Experience in system deployment, user adoption and continuous improvement
  • Ability to deal with sensitive & critical issues, and communicate with technical & business audiences
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts

Additional Information:

  • The primary location for this role is Peoria, IL with a flexible, hybrid work environment. Relocation assistance is available to those looking to relocate to Peoria. We will consider other Caterpillar facilities located within the United States.
  • Limited travel required (up to 15% of working time)
