As an Accountant at Caterpillar, you are responsible to independently perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis, and communication of issues of normal to high complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. The following job is within the Energy and Transportation business resources procurement team.
What You Will Do:
- Presentation and explanation of period cost results to business resources and product group management
- Forecast period costs quarterly and budget annually
- Own the service charge review and implementation process
- Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements
What You Have:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA, CMA or equivalent
- Power BI experience
Additional Info:
- This position is located in our Mossville, IL office
- This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
- Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify
- Sponsorship is not available
- International and Domestic travel up to 5%
