Role Definition: Electrical Build
The Drivetrain Control Systems & Validation, Test Operations organization, has an opening for a Project Coordinator – Electrical Projects. As a Project Coordinator of electrical projects, you will be responsible for planning and leading test stand electrical build activities to support the validation of driveline, hydraulic, and friction material components and systems. You will plan electrical build projects and develop schedules for project plans. You will execute project plans for the electrical portions of test stand builds. You will continually learn, stay abreast of innovative technology, and broaden your professional network while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of electrical systems and controls.
Responsibilities
Coordinate electrical build activities for test facilities
Conduct or oversee formal design reviews
Lead problem-resolution and cost-reduction activities
Creating detailed test cell layout prints
Obtain quotes, choose suppliers, and submit orders for electrical components and systems
Manage projects with UAW and contract electricians to meet quality, velocity, and cost targets.
Support the layout and build process of test stand electrical systems and controls
Perform risk and safety assessments (DFMEA, Safety Walks, Lock-Out Tag-Out)
Degree Requirement
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience desired
Top candidates will also have
Project experience in drivetrain test facilities (TC-G)
Experience using Microsoft Project
Hands-on electrical experience (e.g. machinery, heavy equipment, maintenance electrician, programmable logic controls, etc.)
Powertrain and/or hydraulics electrical build experience
Knowledge of Caterpillar machine product line
Experience with Caterpillar engineering systems (TC/IPEM, PRWB, REDI, DEFACTO, BIQ, Design Reuse)
Experience with NPI, CPI, APQP, and CPPD processes and tools
Skill Descriptors

Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Effective Communications: Level Working Knowledge
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Project Management: Level Working Knowledge
Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Data Gathering and Reporting: Level Working Knowledge
Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
Process Management: Level Working Knowledge
Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.

The location for this position is Mossville, IL (Building G).
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This position may require less than 10% travel.
