Job Summary:
Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Operations & Products (RIOP) Production Scheduler develops and manages a production scheduling process that is innovative and promotes maximization of efficiency and optimization of resources/assets internally while retaining enough flexibility to ensure that all customer needs are met in a timely and cost-conscious manner. Responsible for key supply chain performance indicators across velocity and order-to-delivery. As a member of the Manufacturing Operations team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:
Develops schedules for each prime product configuration, attachment and related products. Monitors internal & external issues which impact on scheduling concerns.
Monitors the production plan and modifies as needed to maintain acceptable product availability and inventory levels.
Allocates product in short supply based on margin, forecasts, large project requirements, special customers, etc. Provides subject matter expertise to project teams addressing sales order and configuration grief, Mach I system grief, and supply constraints, performing impact analysis and providing data. Reviews scheduling activities for commercial entity products not scheduled at facility to ensure schedules are consistent with product strategies.
Develops phase in/phase out schedule plans for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Creates, serializes, resolves grief and releases production orders to the factory.
In addition, the incumbent leads and provides support for multiple project teams working with Manufacturing, Product Group, Operations, Supply Chain Performance, Requirements, Planning and Outbound Shipping groups at facilities.
What you will have:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics or Industrial Engineering
In lieu of degree, 4+ years of progressively more complex supply chain experience
Top Candidates will also have:
3+ years of deep SAP Mach I experience
Advanced knowledge of prime products and attachments, especially track type dozers
Strong knowledge of economic conditions and markets
Experience in product scheduling and/or material requirements planning highly desired
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification highly desired
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced MS Excel & Power BI experience required
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures

The primary location for this position is East Peoria, IL
Domestic relocation assistance is not available
This position may require 5% travel
