As a Materials Specialist at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform complex material control functions to ensure accuracy of inventory and/or storage records. You are accountable for the availability of material to meet scheduled build dates and control records relative to labor and scrap reporting.

* You will tend input/output control stations for a computerized warehouse system.

* Assists investigating and resolving problems associated with the materials systems and procedures
* Support in development of new procedures
* Controls the procedure for receiving purchased materials and shipping out going materials
* Investigates discrepancies between Master Stock Records and actual stock count

* Operate equipment, such as forklift, to move material as needed

Required Qualifications
* Prior experience in a warehouse or similar environment
* Excellent computer skills
* Previous forklift experience
* Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes
* Work at heights of up to 30 feet from the floor, work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Desired Qualifications
* Ability to read/write and interpret documents in English, the ability to perform a variety of clerical functions and do basic math
* Warehouse and/or order filling experience

Additional Information:

- This position does not offer relocation

- This position requires no travel

- Multiple shifts available (2nd and 3rd shift openings)

- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age

- Positions are supplemental full-time
