Global Rental, Service & Marketing (GRSM) is a part of the Services, Distribution & Digital (SD&D) segment. GRSM is comprised of Global Rental & Used Equipment Services, Global Service and Global Marketing & Brand. A primary role of GRSM is to support and enhance Caterpillar’s dealer network, which is a competitive strength and the critical way in which we serve our customers.

The primary responsibility for the Dealer Service Tools Commercial Manager is developing and executing the dealer tooling marketing strategy to deliver the annual Dealer Service Tools sales business plan, which supports the corporate Services Growth initiative and aligns with the Global Service strategy of improving technician efficiency, enabling dealer capacity and capability, and contributing to dealer operational excellence.

This position will be located in Peoria, Illinois but will have worldwide coverage.
What You Will Do:
As the Dealer Service Tools Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
Marketing the value of the entire tools portfolio
Promoting slow moving tooling to improve turns
Providing expertise to dealers, customers and internal partners
Engaging with Product Groups to understand their tooling needs and support prioritization of the most impactful tooling projects
Assisting engineering in identifying new and innovative tooling solutions
Lead a team that includes at least 3 job functions: Marketing Consultation, Parts Information, and Marketing Publications (Tool Catalog, Tool News, and other creative content)
What You Have:
This position will require a deep understanding of industries, our tooling product portfolio, dealers, and customers. You should also have good working knowledge and experiences with the following skill set:
Ability to research and verify customer needs and expectations, solicit customer feedback, and link organizational objectives to customer needs and expectations
Deep knowledge of our products and ability to quickly learn the tooling portfolio trends, directions, regulatory considerations, and major issues
Experience driving awareness of industry standards, practices, and guidelines across the division and with key partners
Strong communication skills: specifically, the ability to prepare effective presentations and deliver impactful messages. Accurately interpret ideas or suggestions from internal and external partners and facilitate the best solicitations across the entire division
Experience establishing and maintaining healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
