We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Section Manager 3 in East Peoria, IL.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes

• Ensures that processes are followed to meet production schedules

• Determines priorities and sequences jobs

• Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staff to meet flow and customer requirements

• Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination

• Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule

• Implements Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma and Internal Certification

• Evaluates, assesses, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training

• Section Value Stream Mapping

• Actively deploys value stream improvements

• Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles

• Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members

• Drives root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement

• Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics

• Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures

Basic Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or leadership

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel computer applications

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Bachelor degree in Manufacturing or Supply chain discipline

• Knowledge of CNC Machining

• Demonstrated experience with SAP

• Lean manufacturing experience

• SAP power user experience

• Assembly experience

Additional Information:
This position does not offer domestic relocation and is located in East Peoria, IL
This position requires 10% or less travel.
This position is on 3rd Shift (11pm-7am)
