We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Strategy Consultant with a focus on Aftermarket Marketing.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

As a Strategy Consultant, you will develop and lead initiatives to support Caterpillar Fluid & Filter growth in the aftermarket. This will include close collaboration with business partners across the organization to gain insights on customer needs, industry trends, dealer perspective and voice of the business to propose & execute ideas for profitable growth.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and reviewing growth proposals

  • Leading commercial projects including the business case development and utilization of structured project & stakeholder management practices

  • Gathering and analyzing relevant data to develop insights and recommend actions

  • Developing & refining various dealer & customer-facing marketing assets to articulate the value proposition of Cat fluids and filters

Basic Qualifications:

Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. Identifies the key elements of the business strategy. Demonstrates the ability to articulate how own work supports the business strategy.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Explains characteristics and steps in an effective decision-making process. Identifies issues and communicates with others when a decision needs to be made.

Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs. Describes general concepts, practices and benefits of value-based versus product selling. Documents proposed solutions to be presented to potential customers.

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Researches and verifies customer needs and expectations. Helps link organizational objectives to customer needs and expectations.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment. Documents data from various sources and in various formats. Utilizes basic data collection and evaluation tools and techniques.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate at an executive level across cross-functional departments including commercial, engineering, marketing and sales teams

  • Previous experience leading Aftermarket projects

Additional Information:

  • This position is located in Mossville, IL and does not offer relocation.

  • Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model. In addition to working onsite at one of our PSLD facilities, our hybrid work model allows employees flexibility to work from home based on business need
